Set Tags with Quicksilver

Now we can set tags for multiple files.

Setting Up Plug-ins

  1. Invoke Quicksilver with keystrokes Space
  2. Go to Quicksilver Preference Pane using keystrokes ,
  3. Move to Plug-ins tab and add new plug-in called File Tagging Module (+)
  4. Wait for the file to be downloaded


Observing Functions of Tags

  1. Select and pass one item to Quicksilver using keystrokes . I use Macintosh HD for example
  2. Move to Quicksilver action box using key
  3. Search all actions that consist keyword tags
  4. Then you will see 4 tags actions : Set Tags, Add Tags, Show Tags and Remove Tags


Setting and Adding Tags

  1. As before, pass up one item (or multiple items) to Quicksilver
  2. Set the action to Set Tags
  3. Move to next Quicksilver box and fill it with appropriate tag name
  4. This tags will appear in the Spotlight comment box with prefix @. This means that you can search with Spotlight using this tag


Showing Tags and Searching with Spotlight

  1. Pass up the items to Quicksilver that have the same tags name
  2. Use the Show Tags Action
  3. The tags for these files can be shown
  4. After you selected one of the tags, you can show another files with the same tag name with Spotlight using Show Files Matching Tag action

Using @ does not work properly when recovering tagged items. It is better to change @ to & in Quicksilver's preferences as this causes less conflicts and is more reliable...
