Good display is everything and good settings make it perfect. Even though you can "Wow!"-ing all the way and show-off to your friends, you have to realize that there are many side effects cause by many wrong settings cause by you.

Here I give example of three common and deadly problem that you may encounter (yes, it can kill your productivity)

The whole display is moving

Everything in this world is moving, including your display. Whenever you move your mouse to the left, your display will move to the right and the other way around. This sounds funny but the effect is disastrous, your display being messed up and your productivity being reduced.

This is the initial state, before zooming..

At zooming state :

Can you see how poor that display is?

There is only one reason behind the strange behavior of your display, you forget to turn off your Zooming State. Restarting, logging off, or even shutting down your Mac won't restore the zooming state you've set. You've to set it back to normal by yourself.

Setting the zoom of your display is an easy task. You just need to press and scrolling your mouse up/down will increase/decrease your display's zoom.

The display is being dissolved

I know you would think that there must be something wrong with the displays above. If your display happen to be like that in a sudden, you can go through these process to make it like usual.

  1. Go to your System Preference Pane, use Quicksilver with keyword syspref
  2. Move to your searching field (F) and type in display then hit

  3. Then find the pop down menu titled Color
  4. Go under Display tab
  5. After that, choose for the largest amount, I choose Millions for mine

  6. Finally you can see the smooth display of your Mac.

The display color is strange

You should realize that the whole display color is being inverted. But this problem is the easiest one to solve. Pressing 8 will invert your whole display.
