Every Mac user should know how time spending to make an alias of Application to drop into Dock; have to dig from a layers of folders, drag it out, and then move it to the Dock. Fortunately, there is a very efficient way of doing this, using QuickSilver. Besides making alias, opening URL using this trick can also be done easily without waiting for web browser default address to load.
  • Invoke QuickSilver; this can be done by either using keyboard shortcut Space or clicking the QuickSilver icon that located inside the Dock (if any).
  • Type the targeted Application or file or maybe opening URL
  • Drag the icon seen in QuickSilver and drop it to your Dock or maybe Desktop also can. The good thing is that after performing this drag and drop, the QuickSilver still there.

Brief explanation using QuickSilver to make searching keyword for Application or file : Take one to five alphabets from words that form the application name. Example :
