Using Advanced Drag-Drop
Posted by Wendy

It seems that these little tricks here shouldn't be missed. This article is the extension of my other article entitled Using Drag-Drop.
Downloading Image Files
Sometimes you will see a nice looking pictures on the web; You want to download it. Instead of clicking on the image and hence being linked to the place where you can download it. But hey, it's really time consuming. You can just simply drag-and-drop it to anywhere inside your Finder (either Desktop or your local Hard Drive or somewhere else). Is it cool? It's really cool.

Copying Link
When you chat with your friends, either via iChat or via Adium, there is a high possibility that you will pass some links to them. To do this kind of link passing actions effectively and conveniently, you can also use simple drag-and-drop. The great thing is that it's working not only on instant messenger but also in all applications which provide text field.

Moving Bunch of Text
Have you ever imagined that you can move your text without assistance of your clipboard? It would be really cool, isn't it? Fortunately, it's very easy to do that. Highlight whole bunch of your text, click and hold your mouse for a split second, then move your mouse vertically up or vertically down. You will see them (your mountain of text, maybe) floating along with your mouse pointer.

Creating Alias (Limited)
For some applications, e.g. TextEdit, you can create alias of your currently opened windows by performing drag-and-drop on its icon which is located next to its title.

Arranging Toolbar (Optional)
When you opened Finder or your Safari browser or maybe your Adium chat, you will likely to see those tools arranged on the top of the pane. By pressing as your modifier key, you can drag-and-drop them to arrange them as your preference. Be aware that those tools would be "poof" (disappeared) whenever you drop them outside the toolbar.
