Top 10 Mac Screen Savers

ADVERTISEMENTS

In old times, screen savers are used to prevent your screen from Phospor burn-in. Nowadays, screen savers are used for extra entertainment and eye-candy.

With increasing number of screen savers being coded and produced, it's time consuming for you to choose the best that fits your need. Hopefully, I've filtered down to Ten Mac screen savers that will make you droll (and they're all free).

Enjoy!

I found wakaba's page with some really cool screen savers at http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/lotsablankers/. I only tried the first one: an animated version of M.C. Escher's Print Gallery drawing.

I'm sorry, but that plasma tunnel is SICK!! I'm havin a great time with it--I made it red and black with white fog far in the distance, so it always looks like you're coming to the end of the tunnel, but NEVER quite reach it lmao. And then I got even more creative; I downloaded a widget for OS-X's dashboard called "wallsaver", which allows you to take any screen saver you want, and run it on your desktop as your wallpaper, motion and all. So now I have a permanent plasma tunnel I will never get out of!!! How ironic... good times, to say the least--thanx!!! P.S.--if anyone else decides to do this trick, beware: once you set certain sreen savers in the wallsaver, and click to turn it on, it MAY only show on up a small part of the screen. It is NOT a bad compatibility though! Just click on the " i " at the bottom right corner of the wallsaver button, which usually flips it over for options. But this time it will enlarge the screen saver to fit the WHOLE screen. And then it will be there until you turn it off, which is as easy as reopening the dashboard and clicking the wallsaver button again--HAVE FUN!!!

I've been using Fenetres Volantes for years. It takes your windows, and kinda stretches out the depth of the screen, and your windows float around inside it. http://www.osx-dev.com/fenetresvolantes/en/index_en.html

Plasma Tunnel-Nice! But If you're not rockin Helios from Crystal XP.Net, you're missing a good mind trip. I'm disappointed with Electric Sheep. It looks cool but I think I have a small herd. Maybe I'll let it run overnight...
