ADVERTISEMENTS

Anytime you are trying to capture a screensaver, you will fail miserably as the screen saver will automatically go off when you try to press any key.

But, there is an easy way to take a snap of screen saver.

Take a Snap

  1. Open Apple - System Preferences…
  2. Go inside Desktop & Screen Saver
  3. Choose your screen saver
  4. Hold down Command-Shift and press Test button
  5. Hit 3 to snap the screen saver
  6. You can do it many times, before you decide to exit by releasing either Command or Shift key

Sticky Keys

If I were you, I wouldn't tire down two of my fingers to keep holding Command-Shift all the time during capturing snaps of my screen saver. I will use Sticky Keys instead.

Using Sticky Keys, you only need to press a modifier key two times and that particular key will stay pressed until you press the key again for the third time.

To activate Sticky Keys:

  1. Open Apple - System Preferences…
  2. Go inside Universal Access
  3. Choose Keyboard section
  4. Turn on Sticky Keys (you can also press Shift-Shift-Shift-Shift-Shift to Sticky Keys)

Now, I hope you can have nice snapshots of your screen saver.
