yep, but may all remember: tiger was launched 2005, vista: 2007. still you have to cheer up Microsoft for at least trying to copy so they can look like a decent OS. ^^

It's so amusing how every screenshot has so many identical elements. Why in the world did Microsoft use the SAME pictures in the emails and the SAME appointments. I mean, looking at the calendars, it looks like the SAME SCHEDULE!!! And it looks like MS is using the SAME RSS feeds! I wonder if they're searching for the same document too...

Are you meaning to imply that OS X has an interesting and unique way of handling simple, everyday tasks that no other OS has ever had before, and that Vista is a copycat for using as well? It sounds like you are.
Keep in mind that desktop search was started by Microsoft, back in Windows 2000, and was incorporated into a deskbar in Windows XP (although it was not enabled by default, and indexing was turned off by default).
RSS Feeds contain nothing more than an array of data. There is very little flexibility in the display of that data, due to this joyous thing called "standards". The fact that IE7 follows the RSS spec, the very same one that Webkit (Safari) follows, is not an indication of copycatting, but rather compliance with third-party standards, set by neither Apple or Microsoft.
Email applications have always followed the same general layout, as evidenced by Thunderbird, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, and just about any other client you can name. Additionally, as stated by "Doh" above, Windows Mail remains almost visually identical to Outlook Express 6, the only real difference being the system UI's update from Luna to Aero.
Likewise, while I can't agree with you that Windows Calendar looks at all like it took cues from iCal, remember that the data being displayed is the same, no matter what system is displaying it. As well, the Windows Calendar looks almost identical to the Outlook calendar that's been around for years (again, the only real change being the system UI's update from Luna to Aero.)
And please... if you're going to compare visuals, use pictures that are in-focus and at native resolution. These blurry thumbs don't do the respective interfaces justice.
And before you discount me as a Windows fanboy, consider that I use a Mac professionally for web design. It is a wonderful system (except when it crashes), but Microsoft is not copying it in the least, neither with Vista or with Windows 7. Please see both OS's for their merits instead of trying to pick out what you perceive as flaws in either. This isn't a war.

Macs, though, are pre-eminent when it comes to "artsy-crafty" tasks. OS X offers iLife, which has photo, movie-making and all kinds of multi-media capabilities. And serious designers and artists will tell you that Mac is the only game in town when it comes to high-end graphics software. If you are a serious gamer, take note, there are not as many games written for Macs as there are for PCs, but that's what Playstation is for, right?
