In a stinging attack聽against rival Nintendo, Sony chairman Sir Howard Stringer has said that he聽is happy that the Wii聽is “a bit short on hardware”, obviously referring to the lebron 6 Wii’s well-known lack of grunt. He also admitted that there was some question about whether the PlayStation 3 (PS3) would make it through this “early part of the cycle”.
However, he now thinks that the PS3 will play an聽important role in Sony’s overall聽recovery.
“We’ve some catching up to do, but at least we have the opportunity to connect the PS3 with the PlayStation Portable and beyond,” Stringer told the Guardian.
Stringer’s new-found confidence comes in the wake of news that in November,聽PS3 outsold the Wii lebron 5 in Japan, 183,000 units sold, compared to 159,000 units.
“I’m happy the Wii seems to be running a bit short of hardware,” said Stringer.
“The PlayStation 3 will come into its own because its games are infinitely more fun, demanding and exciting.
