ADVERTISEMENTS

Exposé, one of the built-in Mac gimmicks that Windows doesn't have, has been doing great job on promoting Mac to Windows users. Personally, I will invoke my Exposé whenever I saw my Windowish friends approaching me while operating my Mac. It's just "Wow!" for them, though it's as simple as bread and butter for Mac users.

Besides being used for attracting attention, we, Mac users, usually use Exposé for the sake of productivity boosting.

Exposé for Accessing All Running Windows

[Default Shortcut: F9]

Exposé for Revealing All Opened Application Windows

[Default Shortcut: F10]

Exposé for Showing Desktop

[Default Shortcut: F11]

There is a possibility that you've changed the keyboard shortcuts previously, if you want to revise shortcuts to invoke those Exposé, go to System Preferences… ▸ Exposé & Spaces ▸ Exposé.

Tip: To type the é as in Exposé, use Option-E E.

Expose/Spaces is one of the best feature in Leopard. Although it is "borrowed" from GNOME/KDE, it is even better than the built-in Workspace in X Window. Cool. While we can still use similar workspace in Windows which improve productivity: Virtuawin opensource freeware VDM free iEX (Expose on Windows?) But not as good as Mac and Linux...

Thanks for the reminder ! I think one should mention that you can invoke Exposé with a mouse gesture also. I mapped the upper left-hand corner of my screen to open up Exposé, I find this useful for some tasks.
