Restoring Original Icon via Get Info Pane

Perhaps previously you’ve modified many icons, yet now you’ve become bored with those changes you’ve made; now you want to revert back to your original icon.

The process of reverting back to original icon is quite easy. Let’s say you've transformed your folder icon into stack drawer icons two months ago, you could do the followings to restore back to original folder icon.

  1. Select that item
  2. Control-Click on it to display contextual menu
  3. Choose Get Info or alternatively, you can use keystrokes command-i
  4. Click on small thumbnail sat on upper-left corner of info pane
  5. Hit delete key to restore your original icon

Though it’s just several steps away to restore your original icon, restoring tens (or even hundreds) of modified icons would be really tedious, repetitive and boring.

I had changed my hardrive icon and was not able to get the original one back. i will try this.
