Unveiling 10 Hidden OS X Shortcuts
Years have passed since the first time I used my Mac. While using my Mac, by accidentally hitting wrong combination or purposely browsing for it, I'd discovered some hidden keyboard shortcuts.
Shortcut, as the name suggests, should bring us more productivity juice rather than drag us down. However, some shortcuts may suit you well, some may take more time for you to adapt; to adopt these new hidden shortcuts or to drop them, that's all depend on you.
Secret Images, Hidden Inside Keynote
Playing around with my Keynote, I realized that when choosing our theme for presentation, there are several images attached to the theme. Out of curiosity, I try to seek for those images.
As expected, I discovered those hidden images, unindexed by Spotlight (with dimension of the image remains uncalculated) right inside my Keynote package contents.
And surprisingly enough, there are more than 30 gorgeous images spotted inside; Some of those can even be used as Desktop wallpapers. Seriously, this is my best finding up to now.
Those hidden images are located inside: Macintosh HD ▸ Applications ▸ iWork'08 ▸ Keynote ▸ Contents ▸ Resources ▸ Themes ▸ Shared. You need to take note that in order to access the contents of Keynote, you need to Control-Click on the Keynote icon and choose Show Package Contents.
For you who don't have Keynote installed, here are several hidden images that can be used as your desktop wallpapers.
Mac Widget: The Hidden Region
When the first time you bought my Mac, I know you will be really amazed with those Dashboard Widgets, especially the weather widget. In my early days owning a Mac, I even gazed at my Widgets for thirty minutes every half an hour.
Let's make things more interesting, do you know the widget that display weather report of certain region? You can select which region you want to display the weather report, but there is one region that I bet you can't find: Nowhere!
